Here you will find interesting and hopefully useful to you tips and tricks on how to cure the golf slice. Playing golf with a slice is like going to Rome without seeing the Pope. A slice makes the shot uncontrollable, making it curve left to right and still most amateur golfers think that it's something they should get used to. Even when you learn the perfect swing, you will still slice a shot from time to time, but considered as normal cause it happens even to pro players. But if you don't want to play golf with a slice for your whole life, then you should really do something about it and this article can help you with some of the theoretical part. Let's start with the basics. First of all, let's give an explanation to what golf slice actually is. Slice is a term describing a specific left-to-right type of trajectory of the golf ball for right-handers, the opposite is true for lefties. Either way, a slice ends up right (or left) of the target line. Every golfer tries to hit the ball squarely and straight, but if the club face is slight open at the point of action in one direction, it will cause the ball to spin which will ultimately make the ball go left or right. It's all about cause-and-effect principle. As pointed out, a slice is caused when the clubhead is twisted in one direction at the moment of impact. The cause of this effect is usually wrong grip, wrong setup, wrong swing or a combination of all those mistakes. The most common reason for a slice is the grip is too weak and too tight with the handle in the palm's tree. Make sure your motion is controllable, it's about gently swinging the club, not haking it. If you look at how Pro golfers do it, you will see that they don't put much pressure into their swing, they do it almost effortlessly. To achieve a consistent and sharp golf swing, it's all about balance and rhythm. If you are nervous and perform the motion too fast, then you will loose your balance resulting in poor ball flight. Expert golfers usually say - "swing easy and hit hard." Having a right setup is also an essential element. You must have your weight equally balanced between your left and right foot. Never forget that golf is a mental sport, not physical. It all happens in the mind, so you must be concentrated, totally focused in the game. Forget about the everyday problems and just concentrated on the game. You must be able to become one with the ball in order to produce the perfect shot. Practice, practice, practice. Everything requires effort and you have to put all your new knowledge to the test. It's a good idea to practice in the driving range as it will save you a lot of money. If you are feeling frustrated about your swing after several unsuccessful attempts, take a break, think about what you are doing wrong and stay positive.
