Sometimes, with how the ailments feel and look, it seems that constipation and hemorrhoids are complex intestinal problems that need costly medical solutions. But most of the time, especially when things are still tolerable, the remedies for the ailments are as simple as diet adjustments and some toilet re-training. Hemorrhoidal symptoms are believed to commonly occur when there is too much straining in defecation due to constipation. If we’re able to control this the disease is often avoidable, or quickly remedied if already existent. Thus, the first line of defense or cure is often dietary in nature where constipation and hemorrhoids are concerned. Increased intake of fibrous foods and healthy and natural drinks are often recommended as both preventive and curative remedies. It is said that most Americans include only about 8 to 15 grams of fiber each day to their diets while the recommended is 25 grams daily. With this fact alone we would see how constipation and hemorrhoids develop in people. It would be so easy to get rid of the problem if only we would increase fruits and vegetables in our diets and get more healthy liquids into our system. In many hemorrhoidal treatments, there is evident emphasis on straining and constipation alleviation. The more we can lessen or eliminate straining due to constipation the more we can deal with the problem effectively. If we successfully deal with constipation we have solved the problem by a considerable percentage and total healing is not far from sight. In this regard a radical shift of diet to loosen stool is the key to solving constipation and hemorrhoids. Another remedy for constipation and hemorrhoids is to watch our wrong toilet habits. Simply put, don’t take too long in using the toilet. Sitting on the toilet rim with our thighs propped up against it for long periods is the culprit in constipation and hemorrhoids problems. Some veins are affected when the pressure against the thigh muscles produce a tourniquet effect on them, restricting the free flow of blood. This causes inflammation in the anal area and the start of the trouble. We may apply some cold cream or ointment once in a while. We may also try some suppository solutions for loosening the stool. Soaking in warm water in tubs can also help relieve the pain temporarily. So do sitz treatments. But these cannot cure our constipation and hemorrhoids woes. What often does is a high fibrous diet and correct toilet habits. Stick to them and the problem is often remedied.
