Get An Online CPR Certificate - It Can Save Your Child!

By: Lee Addison

Obtaining an online CPR certificate is one of the best ways to keep you out front in the employment queue for any of the growing number of positions in the health care and wellness industry. It is obvious that those who take the time to become certified in CPR are in the enviable position of being able to pick and choose their jobs. Not only this, but the fact is that the online CPR certificate is now becoming a prerequisite for many employment positions.

Being able to sit for the online CPR certificate has been of enormous help to many employers. Most of us recognize that this certificate would be required for positions in the health industry as well as safety and emergency response teams, lifeguards etc. But not many realise that it is required for instance for those who are involved in athletic training, or wish to work in the airlines.

The online procedure of either sitting for the CPR certificate for the first time, or going through the process of recertification has been made so much easier with the various online courses that are offered. Many factors come into play which has contributed to its success, such as time, convenience, and the costs of travel. Quite often the nearest course may be held miles away which makes for one awful lot of inconvenience.

The online CPR certificate is also quite often offered as a complimentary package to an online first aid course. This naturally is very relevant to first time rounders who will require both certificates to begin certain training or employment. Together with this there are blended online CPR certificates which offer so many hours online training with a small percentage of class time. Quite often this will also include bloodborne pathogens as well as AED classes combined.

Unfortunately not all online CPR certificate courses are equal. Some are not recognized nationally nor are they approved by the US government. It is important to check the credentials of the online course to make sure that you will end up with a certificate that is accepted right throughout the US.

Many people have fallen victim to fancy advertising campaigns, and the convenience of being able to attend to all the study online, and then printing the CPR certificate from their own computer and printer. This is all very well, until you come to the stage of being required to present your certificate to your new employer and find that it is rejected by that company as not meeting the appropriate guidelines. This is not a good situation to be in.

Online CPR certificates must meet the correct standard or they will be worthless. There are many courses that meet these guidelines, such as the American Heart Association and the Red Cross. The certificate to be of any value must be recognized by national and government agencies as well as schools and hospitals. Accredited courses will also offer free retakes of the test should you fail the first time.

Charges do vary for online CPR certificates, but generally the fees of around $20 are acceptable. Some charge more, even up to $30, but they may not necessarily be offering more to the student. Employers or schools who wish to organize group bookings will always be able to negotiate a much better deal for either their workers or students.
