With cable and DSL creating faster Internet browsing, having a decent speed test can keep you informed to your connection strength. Finding an Internet speed test for free and actually useful can be a pain. Most "Free" Internet speed tests aren't really free as they may want your email address, or even worse try to install spyware onto your computer slowing it down even worse. Worst still is most require some form of payment before they actually provide the speed test at all. Eventually you might actually find one that doesn't have some form of malware attached to it. Unfortunately, the program may not even work. Over 70% of households have at least one(1) ISP. At least 60% have cable Internet. 86% of Americans use an ISP that doesn't provide an Internet speed test. Perhaps its insane, but I feel we should be able to test our Internet speeds when ever we feel the need. Why pay just to find out our ISP is horrible? Finding a decent speed test can be a quite a chore. Once you find one though you can save it and check your ISP's speed when ever you want. Keeping tabs on your Internet speed may show you when your connection is the fastest as well as the slowest. Allowing you the freedom to choose when to use your service to its fullest potential.
