Ceramic Products Filling Our World

A boring subject for an article? Not at all, not at all. In fact, the world of ceramics is an interesting one, and ceramic products are all around us, filling our world. Come, let's take a tour (a short one, I promise you) and see ceramics all around us.

Where would you be without your vehicle? Ceramics are present there - did you know that? Yes, many vehicles today use ceramic brake pads. These pads eliminate the need to use the older, asbestos-based types, which are a health hazard. Ceramic brake pads are also more effective in helping you stop - at all speeds, ceramic brake pads will provide you with that peace of mind.

Want some other examples? Well, let's go back into the house. Go to your kitchen or bathroom, and what do you see - perhaps some beautiful (sometimes hand-painted) ceramic tile in your shower area, or on a kitchen countertop or hallway floor. It is both beautiful and functional, and it can increase the value of your home.

Speaking of the home, another area where you will see ceramic products in the kitchen is in the 'equipment' used there: coffee carafes, teapots and ceramic tea strainers can be found there, right alongside of the usual ceramic dish or cup.

Let's travel outdoors. When we do, what do we find around many homes? Why, ceramic garden stools and benches, ceramic garden pixies and gnomes, playfully lounging in the midst of our outdoor finery.

While we are outside, if we swing around to the front door, we may notice come ceramic house numbers proudly displaying even the street and family name for all the neighbors. They give the house a unique, individual identity. And, what do we see next to the doghouse outside but a ceramic dog bowl, with water and food for the family pooch.

Now let's go to work. Business and industry has always been a user of ceramics. Piezo ceramic elements - you will find these in many high-tech devices, like medical equipment, computers, furnaces - even your backyard BBQ. Ceramic ball bearings are used in many devices - from your family car to a child's skateboard.

Yes, it's true, I think: Ceramic products can be found all around us, filling our world. Where would we be without them? Much poorer off, I think.
